Experience the dystopian future, Now !

HongKong has always been fascinating to me, ever since watching the original Ghost in the Shell Anime, it always felt like that is where you can feel the dystopian future. I always wanted to photograph that place. I had recently seen a picture of the harbour that had really pushed me towards exploring on how to reach HongKong. Getting to HongKong now from Pakistan is quite a pain, but quite an experience too.

I had booked an AirBnb near the Jordan road, it was pretty central , but the apartment was super tiny and the building was in shambles. After a day of staying opted to move out of the area, one of the main reasons was a kitchen downstairs sending up fumes from 4 am onwards. It was humid and the window ac's would pull in all the smells and fumes and sleeping was impossible.

The tiny bed in which you had to fold your legs to sleep.

The area where we stayed had so much character, having arrived from Singapore it felt unsafe in all sorts of ways. But the people were fantastic, more human.

HongKong is an attack on all of your senses, if you can overcome it you will forever live in zen. From the smells, to the chatter, to the noise of big engines of public buses, to metro sounds, to cars, the fast moving traffic, the lights , the neons. It is all beautiful chaos.

Beautiful Chaos
Walk this way
All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head, I want to drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow
The shops are as crowded as the city itself.
There is an old British era mosque in SOHO
Victoria peak has some of the best views
When we got to the peak there was a cloud cover, still an interesting view.
Down in the city , the very kungfu fruit and vegetable shop.
The ads are overwhelming, the people hardcore.

HongKong deserves another post.
