“Winter solitude- in a world of one colour the sound of the wind.”

Shibui (渋い)

December 10, 2019

Even if you strip the world of all its colours, the world is such a beautiful place. All the sounds, experiences, feelings, time, space , everything. I went to California twice, experienced nature in its raw pure form. Tried to capture a lot of it through photographs, some photographs however expressed in their minimalistic feel are shared here.

Joshua Tree National Park on a cloudy foggy morning

“Shibui describes a profound, unassuming, quiet feeling. It is unobtrusive and unostentatious. It may have hidden attainments, but they are not paraded or displayed. The form is simple and must have been arrived at with an economy of means. Shibui is never complicated or contrived… Shibui beauty, as in the beauty of the tea ceremony, is beauty that makes an artist of the viewer.”
